The main goal of The Mark43 Institute is to work in such a way that people will come to believe that God is reliable and worthy of everyone’s trust.
History is filled with stories of men, women, and groups who decided to place their full confidence in God and live in total reliance upon him. The results of such a posture were nothing short of staggering. The lives of these people reveal the truths of promises that are found throughout the bible—promises that for many have only been pretty or insightful words, but those who lived in total reliance upon God experienced them as foundations upon which they could unshakably stand.
We at The Mark43 Institute want to join their rank. It is one thing to hear stories of God’s faithfulness in the past, but it is a completely different thing to know it in the present. By God’s grace we will exist in such a way that God’s faithfulness and abundance will be made manifest to all who care to look and see.
Therefore we have adopted several internal principles to help us live according to what we believe about God, and help us maintain this course of looking to God and relying upon him for all things.
Principles
We believe that the Kingdom of God is here and everyone is invited to enter and begin living under the reign of God, in the wisdom of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is the duty of every disciple of the Kingdom to compel those who are outside of the Kingdom of God to enter in by placing their trust in Jesus (Matthew 5:1-12, Matthew 28:18-20, Galatians 5:22-26, Colossians 3:1-17).
We believe in taking action that is rooted in scripture and prayer, and taken in full trust that God will be with us. (Nehemiah, Mark 16:20, 1 Corinthians 3:6-9).
We believe that through disciplines of grace, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, a person can grow in knowledge of God and become like Jesus in spirit and character. (Romans 12:1-2; Colossians 3:1-4; 2 Peter 1:1-11)
We believe in addressing temporal needs as a means through which we can announce the availability of life in the Kingdom of God. (John 2:1-11, 23; Matthew 4:23, Luke 4:18-19, 9:1-2)
With God’s help we will not seek the support of the world; i.e., we never intend to ask any unconverted persons of poverty or wealth to support The Mark43 Institute. Doing so would not honor God (Psalm 20:7; Isaiah 30:1-7, 31:1). God alone will be our benefactor; if he helps us we will prosper, and if he is not on our side, we will not succeed (Psalm 121:1-2).
Although we do not believe in asking unbelievers for money (2 Corinthians 6:14–18), we do not feel ourselves obliged to refuse their contributions if they, of their own accord, should offer them (Acts 28:2–10).
We reject altogether the help of unbelievers in managing or carrying on the affairs of The Mark43 Institute (Isaiah 31:1; 2 Corinthians 6:14–18).
We intend never to further our work by contracting debts (Romans 13:8), because we consider this to be opposed both to the letter and the spirit of the New Testament. Through prayer and God’s help, we will carry the needs and wants of The Mark43 Institute to the Lord and act according to the means that God gives.
We will not measure the success of The Mark43 Institute by the amount of money given, number of people helped, earthly fame or recognition, organizational growth, or any other earthbound mark of success, but rather by the Lord’s blessing upon the work (Zechariah 4:6; Matthew 4:8-10, 6:1; John 6:66); and we expect God’s blessing in the proportion to which he shall help us to wait upon him in prayer.
While we intend to always be guided by the Word of God, without compromising the truth, we will thankfully receive any instruction which experienced disciples, after prayer and upon scriptural ground, may have to give us concerning the work of The Mark43 Institute.
Objectives
To glorify God by displaying that He is trustworthy. This will be done through our manner of operating in full reliance upon him (Proverbs 3:4-5).
To sow the seeds of the Kingdom of God in individual and communal lives by creating conditions and opportunities that will allow those interested to work towards their revitalization.
To announce the Kingdom of God and provide training that will teach people how to do all the things Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:18-20).
To support other organizations, or individuals, who are working to advance the Kingdom of God by giving at least 10 percent of all received financial contributions (Luke 6:38).
