Farewell: Shadrach Kanyion, my brother
This past Saturday my brother Shadrach entered the eternal kingdom of Jesus Christ. I've been trying to write a longer tribute in his honor, but my thoughts are all over the place.
My brother is now with my dad and with Jesus and all the saints who from their labors rest. He is wrapped up in eternal rest and joy and peace and God. I'm sad for myself and the many people grieving, especially my mom (no parent should have to bury a child) and his son (no young child should have to bury their parent), but I am glad to think about the joy that he experienced when he saw Jesus. Surely, in Jesus, Shadrach finally found everything he was looking for. And I have no doubt that he had no words at first, only tears of joy and gladness. Yes, Shadrach, speechless. With God all things are possible!
Some day my thoughts will settle down and maybe I'll write more. There's certainly a lot to say about him.
Until then... I love and miss you terribly, big brother. Your last text to me said, "No worries." I'll try.
It won't be the same without you.
In peace. — Meshach
