10 Practices for a Good Life
Psalm 37 has become a new companion of mine along the Way. The last few days it has been my goal to immerse myself in it by simply doing what it says in ways that are suitable to me. From the chapter I have taken 10 actions that the reader is instructed to take. If everyone were to do these 10 unto perfection the world would be filled, not only with the glory of the Lord (Isaiah 6:3) but, with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord (Habakkuk 2:14). That is to say, it would be heaven on earth. But no need to wait on the world, you can lead the way today.
- Do not worry.
- Do not be envious.
- Trust in the Lord, and do good.
- Take delight in the Lord.
- Commit your way to the Lord.
- Be still before the Lord.
- Refrain from anger.
- Depart from evil, and do good.
- Wait for the Lord, and keep his way.
- Observe the blameless, and behold the upright.
I did not included God's actions in response to ours because this blog post would turn into a book, but I commend the chapter to you for careful study.
