Official

Today I officially became a Reverend at Omega Baptist church. I guess I shouldn't say official, because when you accept the call from God you are official. But today at church the Pastor formally announced me to the church, then they circled around all the newbie's and prayed for us. Who would have ever thought that Meshach Kanyion would be a minister of the gospel? A few years ago I would have laughed at the thought, but here I am, the Rev. Meshach Kanyion. I have never been to impressed with titles, and I still am not. The fact of the matter is that the title just adds pressure to your life. It adds responsibilities that you can't even imagine. You go from being accountable to few people to being accountable to a lot of people; but I am grateful for it. I want to be ready for it all; I don't want to take it lightly, for it is a heavy task to undertake. I am sure the weighty-ness of the title will soon fade away, but I pray the respect and honor of holding such a position never leaves. I guess this is another stop on my Christian pilgrimage, I'm excited to see what God does.
